“Boruto” Becomes Top-Grossing Film in “Naruto” Franchise

Boruto -Naruto The Movie- still ranked fifth in the latest weekend box office of August 22-23. The 11th Naruto film has earned 2,022,922,500 yen on 1,564,785 ticket sales in 19 days since its release in Japan on August 7, becoming the top-grossing film in the anime franchise started in 2002. The previous record was 2 billion yen marked by The Last -Naruto The Movie released in December 2014.

The original creator Masashi Kishimoto has denied the possibilities of any more sequels, saying “Impossible. Please give me some rest.” at the July 28 event in Tokyo. But considering this huge success, it seems the demand for more adventures of Naruto’s son may remain for a while.
