We’re no stranger to personification illustrations since the Japanese enjoy turning all sorts of things from battleships to swords to computer systems and even poop bacteria into human anime forms, but perhaps this is the first time our humble website has seen real animals portrayed as human figures. Placed in the hands of Xuedaixun (雪代薰), a Chinese artist from Zhengzhou of Henan Province, these adorable canines and felines have been transformed into captivating human forms. Each piece captures the expressions, colors, and aura of their subjects with a mesmerizing touch, making them look as if they belong in some Chinese romance saga.

Xuedaixun mentions in her Deviantart profile that she has always been moved by traditional Chinese paintings. She hopes to express the “feeling of rendering with water and ink” even through digital paintings, and that fusion of modern technology with traditional techniques is evident in her lovely pieces.
