College Students Plan to Debut Their Indie Anime this Fall

Gekigadan is a team of 30 college students from Kyoto and they are planning a theatrical release for their indie anime.

Kuuchuu Gunkan Atlantis (Aerial Battleship Atlantis) is set on a floating island called Atlantis. The story follows a captured girl named Luna and her would-be rescuer Cyan. Not everything is a simple as it appears thanks to a mysterious enemy and the robot Gekiga-go.

Gekigadan launched a crowdfunding campaign to bring the anime to theaters. They have currently raised 713,500 yen of the 1 million yen that they need, but there are still 29 days left for the campaign.

If successful, the staff will aim for an October 2018 debut date.
