‘Boruto’ Just Showed Fans The New Power Of Kazekage Gaara

Gaara is the Fifth Kazekage of Sunagakure. He was one of the main characters in Naruto, and he’s a recurring character in Boruto as well. We’ve seen him quite a bit in Boruto already. Gaara was recently shown again during the Chunin Exams arc, and with that, we found out some interesting details about what powers Gaara currently holds. Now before I begin with this post, I want to let you all know that it contains heavy spoilers from Boruto. If you don’t want to be spoiled, I suggest that you stop reading here. However, if you don’t mind a couple of spoilers, then let’s get started.

Gaara – Boruto Anime

As we all know, Gaara was the Jinchuuriki of the One-Tailed beast, called Shukaku in Naruto. We all know Jinchuuriki are extremely powerful and Gaara was one of them, but that didn’t last long. The Akatsuki made sure that Gaara lost his Tailed Beast. That did make him considerably weaker than before, but from what we got to see in the recent episodes of Boruto, Gaara is probably stronger than ever before, and this has a lot to do with being a Pseudo Jinchuuriki. If you don’t know what that is, let me explain. A Pseudo Jinchuuriki is someone who doesn’t actually have a Tailed Beast within them but has access to some of its chakra.

Having lost Shukaku, Gaara technically should not have access to his chakra. However, Gaara is connected to Shukaku in the same way that Naruto is connected to all the 9 Tailed Beasts. So just like Naruto can ask them for chakra, Gaara can do the same, making him a Pseudo Jinchuuriki of the One-Tail. We’ll definitely see more of Shukaku and Gaara in Boruto, and a team as awesome as theirs deserves more screentime, without a doubt.
