The Boruto manga has been going on for over a year now, and we’re 18 chapters in already. The manga has already covered the Momoshiki arc, and after that, it covered the Mujina bandits arc. We also found out about the existence of a new organization, known as the Kara, who operate secretly, without the Five Great Nations finding out. Sasuke Uchiha said that their potential threat is almost as big the Otsutsuki Clan itself, and that’s what makes them very fearsome. Right now, the manga is in the Ao arc.
For those of you who don’t know, Ao is alive, and he was somehow able to survive the Tailed Beast Bomb from the 10 Tails, during the 4th Great Ninja War. We don’t know the details about it yet, but Ao never returned to Kirigakure. Instead, he chose to join Kara, and is supposedly evil right now. The current Arc is centered around him, and he will definitely be the final villain here. But, along with Boruto, it looks like Konohamaru Sarutobi is also caught up in a fight with some Kara members.
In the recent Boruto manga, many hoped to see what Konohamaru’s fate was. But, even after waiting for more than month z we got 40 something pages, which basically showed Boruto trying out new Ninja technology, and chakra sabers. So, there was no development. But, that’s not all. According to Naruto Uzumaki, connection to Konohamaru’s team has been cut off. Konohamaru and another Jonin are declared missing. So, in order to check on the situation, he sends Boruto, Mitsuki, and Sarada to investigate.
That’s right. Two elite Jonin just went missing, and Naruto sends three Genin to retrieve them. From what I know, fans didn’t receive this very well. We all know Naruto is wiser than that. Even Shikamaru didn’t try to explain that if the enemy managed to take down Konohamaru, sending in three Genin would be pointless. I get that Team Konohamaru is the central team in Boruto, and they’re all at least Chūnin level already. But, I think the decision that Naruto took here was wrong. Even if they do manage to rescue Konohamaru, it is very dangerous to send 3 Genin after an enemy who just took down 2 Jonin.
But, I’m hoping that Konohamaru is fine, and if that’s that case, it’ll be a 4 on 1, which will be good for both the manga, and the fans likewise. For now, we’ll have to wait till the next issue to see what happened.
