“Boruto” Monthly Manga Series Confirms May 9 Launch

The Naruto spin-off manga for his son, Boruto, finally gets a release date, as announced by the official Shounen Jump! website, which means that fans can finally read Boruto when Weekly Shounen Jump! Magazine begins serializing the series on May 9, 2016.

The Boruto spin-off manga will be illustrated by Naruto creator, Masashi Kishimoto’s former assistant, Mikie Ikemoto, and it will run in the magazine once a month starting with issue #23. The manga is supervised by Kishimoto himself, and will be written by Ukyou Kodachi. It will follow the latest generation of ninjas, lead by Boruto, the son fo Naruto and Hinata.

Meanwhile, speaking of Masashi Kishimoto, the legendary mangaka will be launching a Naruto one-shot for the combine issue #24/25 of Weekly Shounen Jump! magazine, which is due for release on April 25, 2016.
