The Japanese light novel series turned anime series, ‘Classroom of the Elite’ did wonder with its debut season, and ever since the first season came out, fans of the show have been craving for more content to binge on, however, the official team has been laying low for a while now, and fans are stressing over the future of the series. The anime has been adapted from the popular light novel series by Shōgo Kinugasa titled ‘Yōukoso Jitsuryoku Shijō Shugi no Kyōshitsu e‘ or ‘Welcome to the Classroom of the Supreme Ability Doctrine’ which began its manga serialization in 2016, and later in September 2017, the very first season of the anime made its debut. 

The first season performed quite well and it was well-received by the audiences, who praised the overall storyline, the aesthetics, the characters, and the progression. Although the initial success hinted for a better future, the official team has been keeping their lips tight regarding the second season, and it has been over two years, that fans hear anything new regarding the series. 

What is the Plot of the Classroom of the Elite Season 2?

The setting of the story takes place in future Japan, where the government has successfully set up a ‘Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing School’ whose sole purpose is to shape the current generation who’ll run the country and to do that efficiently, they have created an environment for the students where freedom is a key piece to make them prepare for the real life. The school has different sections representing a different class of students and the story follows a boy of D-class (the inferior section), Kiyotaka Ayanokōji, whose life changes after meeting two students from his class, Kikyō Kushida, and Suzune Horikita.

The first season was adapted well from the source material, and the overall pacing of the storyline was fair, and with 12 episodes on board, it concluded the story until the third light novel. So, it’s pretty obvious for the studio to pick up the next volumes, and given the current amount of material available, it is rumored that the series would easily get at least two seasons. 

Season 2 is expected to feature the students and their battle in the cruise ship, and thighs will change dramatically, as they will have to work in a group, and their brains will be tested to the limits when they try to win the competition, and according to the latest rumors, you can expect more drama and interesting plot twists in season 2.
