Fairy Tail Anime’s Tartarus Arc Begins This Spring

This year’s eighth issue of Kodansha‘s Weekly Shōnen Magazine will announce on Tuesday that Fairy Tail‘s Tartarus arc will begin in the anime this spring.

The Tartarus arc began in Hiro Mashima‘s manga in October 2013 with the 356th chapter, and will end with the 416th chapter on Tuesday.

Mashima launched Fairy Tail in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2006, and Kodansha shipped the 47th compiled volume on Friday. Kodansha Comics is releasing the series in North America, and will ship the 46th compiled volume on January 27.

The series inspired a television anime in 2009 that concludedwith a “To Be Continued” title card in 2013. The second seriesbegan airing in Japan last April, and Crunchyroll andFunimation stream the series as it airs. Funimation is releasing the first series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in North America.
