K: Seven Stories anime movie project announced for Summer 2018

The K anime franchise recently held the “Daisuke Namikawa ‘K’ Bonds Emergency Meeting” event last Saturday, 8th April. During the event, they revealed a new K anime movie project titled K: Seven Stories. They also revealed that the project will hit Japanese theaters starting Summer 2018.

The movie project is based on several stories from various K-related media like novels and manga, and the official website revealed their titles. They are:

K SEVEN STORIES Based on SIDE : BLUE (from a novel)
K SEVEN STORIES Based on Lost Small World (from a novel and manga)
K SEVEN STORIES Based on R : B (from a novel)
K SEVEN STORIES Based on SIDE : GREEN (from a novel)
K SEVEN STORIES Based on -Memory of Red- (from a manga)
K SEVEN STORIES Based on Idol K (from an idol spin-off parody)
K SEVEN STORIES Based on NEW STORY (new work)

The website revealed that these titles will be shown in sequence. However, they did not reveal whether these titles will be shown as seven separate films or as one movie.

The first stage play, titled Butai K, ran in Tokyo from August through October 2014. The second play, titled K Dai-ni-Shō: Arousal of King, ran in Tokyo and Osaka in August 2015. The third play, K―Lost Small World―, ran in Tokyo in July 2016.

GoHands is once again animating the project, with Shingo Suzuki returning to direct it. The website lists both GoRa and GoHands as the film’s original creators.
