Kakegurui is also getting a live-action TV drama adaptation

After getting a Netflix TV anime from MAPPA, Homura Kawamoto and Toru Naomura’s gambling manga, Kakegurui, is also getting a live-action TV drama adaptation. MBS and TBS will both air the drama in Japan starting January 2018 as part of their Drama-ism block.

The series will be directed by Heroine Shikaku’s Tsutomu Hanabusa. And to celebrate getting this new live-action adaptation, the manga’s illustrator, Toru Naomura, revealed a new illustration of main heroine, Yumeko Jabami.

MAPPA previously animated the manga for a Netflix TV anime last season. The TV anime adaptation will be released globally in English this 2018. Set in the prestigious Hyakkaou Private Academy where gambling is everything, the school’s brutal gambling and debt system suddenly gets rocked with the arrival of a new student named Yumeko Jabami.
