“One Piece” Manga 78th Volume Tops Weekly Sales Ranking with 1.676 Million Copies

According to the latest Oricon report, the 78th volume of Eiichiro Oda’s internationally popular manga series One Piece, released in Japan on July 3, easily took the top spot in the weekly comic sales ranking selling an astonishing 1,676,264 copies in its first week. It was about 8,000 copies more than the first week sales of the previous 77th volume released in April. Now the 78th volume holds the best first-week manga sales record of this year.

The far-behind second top-selling manga of the week was the 15th volume of Yusei Matsui’sAssassination Classroom with 423,828 copies, and the third was the 68th volume of Tite Kubo’s Bleachsold 223,964.
