The Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu stage event at the MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2017 on Sunday has announced that the series will receive a new OVA. More information regarding the new episode will be revealed at a later date.
Written by Tappei Nagatsuki with illustrations by Shinichirou Ootsuka, the light novel inspired a 25-episode anime adaptation by studio White Fox in Spring 2016. The series placed second in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi 2017 rankings’ best light novel category, and won first place in Sugoi Japan 2017 in both anime and light novel categories. Kadokawa published the novel’s 13th volume on June 24, with the 14th volumes scheduled for release on September 25. Yen Press has been publishing the series in English since July 2016, and released the fourth volume on June 20.
