Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor (ロクでなし魔術講師と禁忌教典アカシックレコード Roku de Nashi Majutsu Kōshi to Akashikku Rekōdo) is a Japanese light novel series written by Tarō Hitsuji and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. Fujimi Shobo has published eight volumes since July 2014 under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation with art by Aosa Tsunemi began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s shōnen mangamagazine Monthly Shōnen Ace from March 26, 2015, and has been collected in five tankōbon volumes. An anime television series adaptation by Liden Films aired from April to June 2017.

Introduction

Sistine is happy with her life the way it is, especially her academic life. She is studying magic and has a good tutor. That is, until he retires and a substitute teacher takes over his classes. Sistine soon has to realize that her new teacher is a lazy bastard and doesn’t plan on teaching them anything, which stands in the way of her life-goal to find the sky castle. And how did that strange teacher end up getting the job anyway, since her past teacher would never have picked him as his substitute if he new he was that incompetent.

Adaptation

Roku de Nashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Record is based on a light novel series written by Taro Hitsuji with illustrations by Kurone Mishima. The series was published via Fujimi Shobo’s Fantasia Bunko and eight volumes are currently available. A collection of short stories entitled Roku de Nashi Majutsu Koushi to Memory Record  went on sale on from 19 March 2016. A second volume of short stories will be available from 20 April 2017. There is a manga adaptation, with art by Aosa Tsunemi, serialized in Kadokawa’s Monthly Shonen Ace. There are five chapters of the manga series currently available.

Episode 5: The Queen and the Princess

In the middle of the magic festival, Lumia’s life is targeted by a royal guard. And while Glenn manages to save her just in time, he is hindered to help someone else…

Episode 6: The Evil Being

The ones pulling the strings behind the royal guards were the Researchers of Divine Wisdom. Glenn takes action to clear Lumia’s name. Meanwhile, at the Magic Sports Festival, what appears in front of the students from class 2?

Episode 7: The Sea of Falling Stars

For Lumia’s security, RieL has been incorporated into the academy. She gradually blends in through interactions with Sistine and the others. Even before this, she was acquainted with alumni of the academy, but…

Episode 8: The Fool and The Star

Sistine and the others take a school field trip to the magical research laboratory. On the way home, RieL, whose behavior has changed, meets her older brother who lives apart from her and who confronts Glenn on the spot.

Episode 9: The Reason to live

Glenn got fatally wounded but Sistine saved him with her magic. Following RieL, who took away Lumia, Glenn and Alberto head to the Platinum Magic Research Laboratory.

Episode 10: Gold Digger!?

Returning from their field trip, Glenn and the others spend some calmer days. But then Leos visits the academy as a special lecturer and when he reveals that Sistine is his fiancée, chaos breaks loose.

Episode 11: Face-off! The Mage Corps Battle

Glenn and Leos are to duel by training their students in mage squad combat. Glenn tries a strange tactic against Leos, who has taken up command.

Episode 12: Finding One’s Own Place
