Snow Miku and Homura Akemi exchange costumes in new official collaboration

In a new collaboration for the upcoming Snow Miku Festial 2015 event in Sapporo, Japan, the ever-popular winter diva known as Snow Miku, will be teaming up with the also ever-popular magical girl, Akemi Homura from Madoka Magica. Oh, and Kyuubey is there as well.

The new illustration is made by none other than Madoka Magica character designer and chief animator, Junichiro Taniguchi with the finish made by Shaft, the studio also responsible for MadoMagi. It features Miku wearing Homuhomu’s costume, while Homura is seen wearing Snow Miku’s very first outfit. Oh, and Kyuubey is there as well as he “cosplays” Snow Miku’s pet, Yukine.

There will be a sale of the third Madoka Magica movie’s DVDs and Blu-rays during the event, as well as a Madoka Magica orchestral concert to be held in the Sapporo Education and Culture Center from February 10 – 11, 2015. The collaboration also promotes the upcoming Madoka Magica shop at Sapporo Parco’s 7th floor, which will be open from January 30 – February 11, 2015.

The official Snow Miku website also unveiled how the Snow Miku sculpture will look like when the Annual Sapporo Snow Festival will be held from February 5 – 11, 2015. The new Snow Miku design was chosen from many entries from all over the world. It features Miku and Yukine sporting a Lily of the Valley design.
