studio ghibliIt appears that you have a chance to work for Studio Ghibli, the legendary anime company behind My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Whisper of the Heart, and many other well-known titles.

There’s a recruitment advertisement recently posted by Studio Ghibli that states the company is seeking experienced digital painters with skills in OpenToonz or RETAS, and image-editing software Photoshop.

Applicants should be more than 20 years of age, living in Japan by 31 May with sufficient Japanese proficiency. Successful applicants will work from Mondays to Fridays starting 1 October on a new anime film production, and the thing here is that they will be paid upwards of 250,000 yen (US$2,200) per month, with contracts set for at least 18 months. The best thing here is that you get to work with the legendary Hayao Miyazaki.

Applicants should submit a resume and a cover letter, plus provide a list of broadcasted animation works which they have worked on.

The application deadline closes on 14 June, so don’t miss your chance.
