Jujutsu Kaisen Manga To End Within The Next 2 Years

In a recent interview with variety show Mandou Kobayashi, the author of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga Akutami Gege said that the manga will end within the next 2 years. He also said that the ending is already determined, and that he has it set for Yuuji and Megumi. The ending for Sukuna is still up in the air though, according to him.

This was the first live appearance in television by Akutami Gege, though he disguised himself to hide his identity. They conducted it to commemorate the manga’s victory in this year’s “Manga Kobayashi – Manga Award” contest. The show broadcast in two parts, airing on January 30 and February 27 in Japan through Fuji TV and Fuji TV ONEsmart. The manga recently surpassed 30 million circulating copies (also including digital release)! Though that was a few weeks ago, so it’s probably a few millions above that now. It has been serialized since March 2018, which is a pretty short amount of time for such a big number! It has been growing tremendously following the anime adaptation, and people have been comparing it with Demon Slayer a lot.

Akutami Gege has a hugely popular manga, though seeing Jujutsu Kaisen end within 2 years might be a good thing if that was his initial plan. Koyoharu Gotouge also ended Demon Slayer relatively quickly (many expected it to go on for longer). Both have awesome anime adaptations so far, and we’re likely to enjoy them both for way more than 2 years.
