Why Vegeta Was Stronger Than Goku At The End of Dragon Ball Super

Dragon Ball Super gave both Goku and Vegeta huge power ups during the Tournament of Power. Goku got his Ultra Instinct. At first, we saw the Ultra Instinct Kizashi form. This was merely a preview of what was to come. Ultra Instinct Kizashi was very powerful on its own, but it still didn’t compare to the power that Jiren had dormant within him.

So, Goku had to step it up even further, and he managed to master the usage of Ultra Instinct. This new form simply went by the name of Mastered Ultra Instinct. In this state, Jiren wasn’t able to keep up with Goku anymore, and would’ve lost easily had it not run out.

On the other hand, Vegeta didn’t get Ultra Instinct, but he did get his own form, known as Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Blue Evolution, or simply put, Super Saiyan Blue Evolution. This form is basically the advanced version of Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Blue form, and it grants him power that is several times greater than that of a regular Super Saiyan Blue.

Obviously, Ultra Instinct Goku is several times stronger than Super Saiyan Blue Evolution Vegeta, but here’s the interesting thing; Goku cannot use Ultra Instinct at his own will. He doesn’t know how he did it, and he will probably need to train a lot until he masters it. So Goku’s strongest form right now is Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken x20.

So how does Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Blue Evolution compare to Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken x20? The opinion may vary from person to person, but at first, in Dragon Ball Super Episode 123, I thought it was Vegeta’s equivalent of Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken x20. But Vegeta gradually started getting better, and stronger with the usage of this form. When he fought God of Destruction Toppo, his powers increased several times more, and I think he was truly above the level of Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken x20 Goku.

So in my opinion, at the end of Dragon Ball Super, Goku was actually weaker than Vegeta, at least on paper. However, Goku was to ever fight someone who would push him to the edge, I’m sure that Ultra Instinct would surely get triggered, and if that happens, Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Blue Evolution would be no match.
