Anime Series Like Chivalry of a Failed Knight

Anime Series Like Chivalry of a Failed Knight - Best Anime Series Recommendation |List of Top Anime - A Certain Magical Index,Absolute Duo,AntiMagic Academy 35th Test Platoon | Crunchyroll & Netflix

A certain selection of people, known as Blazers, are able to manifest their souls as weapons. To harness these powers, a number of schools have been established to teach these people how to use them. Ikki Kurogane is an aspiring Mage-Knight, but unfortunately is also one of the lowest ranked Blazers around. However, there may be more to his powers than meets the eye.

Although it is a harem, it doesn’t have as bad of a story line as some harem shows, if you want more anime series like Chivalry of a Failed Knight, we got you.

For Fans of The Weakest (But Not Really)

The Irregular at Magic High School

After magic, once thought to be
folklore, was turned into a technical skill, schools to teach it
opened all over. At one such school are siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki
Shiba. While Miyuki excels, her brother is placed in a lower class
due to his seemingly magical ineptitude. However, he has rather
unique abilities that make him quite irregular.

Both are shows about magic schools and main characters that have a reputation for being the worst user in school. Of course, that is not the case at all. You watch these series to find out how they are incredible. Or, at least, watch it for the harem.

Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle

Lux was the former prince of the previous regime that was overthrown five years prior. When he accidentally ends up in an all-girls bathing area, the current princess of the kingdom challenges him to a Drag-Riding duel. Lux used be one of the strongest riders, but has since become a joke since he now refuses to attack. Somehow, the results of this duel force Lux to join the all-girls dragon riding school to become a Drag-Knight.

While the unique magics of their worlds are different, these shows start off with a duel between the main character and royalty. Though they have reputations for being bad, those main characters impress and show that they have significant power.

A Certain Magical Index

Academy City in Japan is at least 30
years more advanced than the rest of the world, technologically.
However, they also have a number of students that are honing their
psychic abilities. Unfortunately for Touma Kamijou, he is a psychic
rank of zero, but he has an ability that the city’s scientists can’t
quite understand – the ability to negate other psychic abilities.
Despite this, he lives a normal life until he meets Index Librorum
Prohibitorum, a young girl who has memorized the entire forbidden
grimoires, and she drags him into the realm of the supernatural.

In both series, you are introduced to
main characters and are led to believe they kind of suck. It is more
believable in Chivalry of a Failed Knight, but you soon learn in both
that they are actually quite powerful.

For Fans of Magic Training Schools

AntiMagic Academy 35th Test Platoon

With magical threats everywhere, the power Inquisitors were created to stem the chaos. To train these individuals, they are sent to a special school where they train alongside the test platoon. While Ouka Ootori is a powerful Inquisitor, his rebellious streak sees him forced to join this platoon.

While both take place at a school to train magic users, the roles are reversed. Instead of being about students, AntiMagic is more about the instructors stuck in a somewhat demeaning job.

The Familiar of Zero

Louise is a self-absorbed mage at the
prestigious Tristain Academy. Unfortunately, she can’t cast magic
right and her classmates call her Louise the Zero. One day during a
summoning ritual, Louise messes it up again and summons a boy named
Saito. At first she treats him as a slave until she discovers a
powerful brand on him, the sign of a legendary familiar known as
Gandalfr.

The Familiar of Zero is more playful and less gratuitous harem, but both shows are about someone becoming the slave of another due to circumstance. Of course, they end up bonding rather than being typical slaves. However, they are both series about the shenanigans at a magical high school.

Absolute Duo

Individuals who can materialize weapons
from their soul are called “Blazers,” and they attend
Kouryou Academy High School in order to harness their abilities.
However, each student needs a partner. Tooru Kokonoe hopes to attain
this power after the death of his sister, but at the opening
ceremony, he is forced to duel against the person sitting next to
him, with the loser being expelled. As Tooru prepares to give the
match his all, it is not a weapon that manifests from his soul, but a
shield, an irregularity which catches the attention of a foreign
student named Julie Sigtuna.

Well, for starters, both series feature
special people called Blazers. In fact, Blazers in both series are
essentially the same thing in various forms of flashiness – they
can manifest weapons from their souls. Luckily for copyright, their
stories end up differing enough, but feature a lot of the same harem
tropes.

For Fans of Fiery Tsundere Princesses

The Asterisk War

Ayato Amagiri just got accepted to an elite academy for Genestella – a new breed of humans with amazing skill. Through duels at this school, the student learn to better control their powers. Unfortunately, due to some unfortunate peeping accusations, his new school life is off to a rough start.

Both series feature a guy that is new to an academy where those with special abilities train. They also both start off with the main character seeing a girl naked and it ends up with violence.

Blade Dance of the Elementalers

As a prestigious school for shrine
princesses, Areishia Spirit Academy trains its students to be
elementalists. In order to help with this, they form slave contracts
with spirits to bolster their power. Up until now, only females have
had this power, until average guy Kamito Kazehayas becomes the first
man in 1,000 years to form a contract with a spirit.

The obvious similarity here is the harem aspects in the show. They are more obvious in Blade Dance, but you learn quickly what sort of show Chivalry of a Failed Knight is. Similarly, both main characters find themselves at odds with a red-headed royal.

Kaze no Stigma

Kazuma Yagami is a Fuujitsu user able to control the wind. However, this ability led to banishment from his family home for not being able to control fire. Years later when he returns home, it leads to conflict, but worse yet, several members of his family have been killed by Fuujitsu. Now he must discover the true identity of the killer.

Both series focus on those with special, and often elemental, powers. While Kaze No Stigma doesn’t feature a loser necessarily, he is the black sheep of his family. However, through a partnership with a fiery user, like in Chivalry, he ends up rising to lofty heights.
