to find themselves in another world. However, as none of them are just normal
students, they set out to improve and take over this world through the use of
their specialties.

An isekai, yes, but one where it shows how talented individuals
can have an affect on the world around them. If you are looking for more anime

For Fans of Taking Over Other Worlds

Overlord

As the final hour approaches the life cycle of the MMO
Yggdrasil, Momonga, a powerful wizard and leader of the dark guild Ainz Ooal
Gown, is there to see it off. However, to his surprise, the servers don’t go
down and even stranger is that all the NPC characters have come alive with
their own unique personalities.

Both series are isekai series about people that end up in a new world, see it, and decide they can make it better or, at least, theirs. However, as Overlord is an MMO isekai, it has a large focus on action.

drifters-anime

Drifters

While forming the rear guard for his uncle’s escape,
Toyohisa Shimazu manages to mortally wound I Naomasa, but is critically wounded
himself in the process. While trying to limp back home, he finds himself
transported from the field to a hallway lined with doors. There a mysterious
man sends him spiraling into another world. Dragged into the forest by two
young elves, Toyohisa is patched up from two others from the Land of the Rising
sun that turn out to be Yoichi Suketaka Nasu and Oda Nobunaga. From there,
Toyohisa and his fellow historical figures, named “drifters” must save (or
conquer) their new world.

At a glance, both of these series are actually extremely similar. After all, what are historically famous characters if not the prodigies of their times? The key differences is Drifters is almost all about war. Any development that goes on in the country is purely for war reasons.

the rising of the shield hero anime

The Rising of the Shield Hero

The stories tell of four heroes summoned from another world
– the sword, spear, bow, and shield heroes who will prevent calamity. With
darkness bearing down on them, the Kingdom of Melromarc summons these heroes
from modern day Japan. For otaku Naofumi Iwatani, unfortunately he is labeled
the shield hero, the weakest of the group. Worse yet, betrayal sees him labeled
as a criminal and outcasted. With hatred and vengeance consuming him, he sets
forth to grow strong.

While Naofumi doesn’t immediately set out to take over his
world like the prodigies, he does sort of end up on that path due to everyone’s
sheer ineptitude. Shield Hero, however, is more typical of your standard isekai
as in there is more action, but it does turn certain tropes on its head.

For Fans of Talented High Schoolers

Danganronpa

Hope’s Peak Academy is an elite high school where those
accepted are given special titles that showcase their skills. This year, only
fifteen were accepted, and one of them was the completely normal Makoto Naegi
who got in on sheer luck. The students are thrilled, that is until they are trapped
inside the school by principal and bear Monokuma who tasks them with killing
one of their peers and not getting caught to escape. However, if they are
caught, they will be executed.

Both series are different in the respect that High School Prodigies is an isekai show and Danganronpa is about a killing game. However, they are similar because both follow students that specialize in one particular area. In each series, they use that knowledge to attempt to either change a world or kill their peers / solve their murders.

assassination classroom anime

Assassination Classroom

crescent by an unknown calamity, the students of class 3-E at Kunogigaoka
Middle School are presented with a daunting task: assassinate the creature that
blew up half the moon before the year’s end or die when the world is destroyed.
The creature in question, dubbed Koro-sensei by his class is super fast, super
strong, and by all respects, indestructible. However, while the students try
and learn how to destroy him, they also learn that he is the best teacher that
they have ever had.

At a glance, the students in Assassin Classroom aren’t similar to the prodigies because they are in the worst class of their school. However, you watch them grow into excellent assassins and see that they do in fact have their own talents that might not translate well to a successful school life. Yet, it is these talents that they use to thrive.
