Anime Series Like Outburst Dreamer Boys - Best Anime Series Recommendation |List of Top Anime - Chunibyou,D-Frag!,First Love Monster | Crunchyroll & Netflix

When Mizuki transferred to a new school, she wanted to live a normal school life. All that gets changed when she finds herself running into the members of the Hero Club. Each boy in it is suffering from some form  of chunibyou syndrome. Pulled in as their newest member, Mizuki doesn’t get her normalcy, but she does get a lot of new friends.

With a heady amount of cute and cringe that we expect from Chunibyou syndrome sufferers, Outburst Dreamer Boys is not the best in the bin, but an adorable little distraction. If you are looking for more anime recommendations like Outburst Dreamer Boys, then head on down below.

For Fans of Chunibyou

Love, Chunibyou, and Other Delusions

Everyone has that stage in their life where they think
themselves special, different from mere humans. In middle school, Yuuta Togashi
thought himself the Dark Flame Master, but upon entering high school, he has
grown out of it. Unfortunately, after a chance meeting with Rikka Takanashi, a
girl believing to have a God in her eye, attaches herself to him and brings
that Chunibyo past back out.

The similarity here is obvious. They are both about chunibyou. However, Outburst Dreamer Boys features a group of boys aged correctly for it while Chunibyou is about a girl who failed to grow out of that phase.

d frag anime

D-Frag

Kazama thinks he has what it takes to take over his high
school with his gang, even if it is just his two friends in it. However, when
his gang has a run in with the four unique girls of the Game Development Club,
he is shanghaied in as a member himself.

D-Frag isn’t explicitly about chunibyou people, but you can see the similarities. What they do have in common is being slice of life comedies about oddballs. While Outburst Dreamer Boys flounders a bit with the comedy, D-Frag is almost always spot on in that respect.

Watamote

Tomoko Kuroki is an expert dating sim player and avid fan of
anime, but no slice of life game could prepare her for her biggest challenge –
high school. As a budding hikikomori, Tomoko must overcome her anxiety and
social awkwardness in order to navigate normal life.

If you, for some reason, enjoyed the cringe that comes from
chunibyou-ism, then this is your natural next anime to watch. Watamote is
legendary for its cringe, so much so that it can be difficult to watch.

For Fans of Obnoxious Harems

Oresuki – Are You The Only One That Loves Me?

Jouro is your average high school boy that dreams of a love
story. He is thrilled when he lines up two dates, but unfortunately, both girls
confess their love for his best friend. Of course, his friendly face is just a
façade. Schemer that he is, he decides to make his friend fall for one of the
girls so he can swipe the other. Unfortunately, his efforts are threatened by
Pansy, a gloomy girl who knows of his secret personality.

Both series start to tell somewhat expected tales of harems. However, it turns out the harems are more difficult that thier king (or queen) expected. In Oresuki, they all love the main guys friend, in Outburst Dreamer Boys, their delusions make everything difficult. It makes for some good comedy and even some decent romance moments at times.

Ouran High School Host Club anime

Ouran High School Host Club

In Ouran High School, the typical student is a member of the
wealthy elite, but not Haruhi Fujioka. Accepted on a scholarship, Haruhi wants
to avoid all the glitz and glamour in order to study hard and become a lawyer.
While looking for a rare quiet place to do so, Haruhi stumbles upon a host
club. Frantic to get away from these weird boys, Haruhi breaks a valuable vase.
In order to pay back the debt, the club demands that Haruhi becomes a host. There
is only one problem, contrary to what the boys believe, Haruhi is actually a
girl.

Both series are reverse harems and good comedies to boot. Ouran is actually a little bit more developed, mostly because the characters are older. However, they are still just as strange as the chunibyou boys in their own way, yet also relatably damaged.

first love monster anime

First Love Monster

Raised in an influential family, no one has ever said anything
unkind to Kaho because of her family. She decides to move into a dorm in order
to be treated normally. Soon after, she wanders into traffic and is saved by a
tall stranger. After a tongue-lashing, she falls in love for him and confesses
her love. Only after they are dating does she discover that he is actually a
fifth grader.

As both series follow younger boys, there is that same sort
of immaturity about them. However, Outburst Dreamer Boys has more comedy and
less of a focus on romance. Yet both follow a girl entwined with troublesome boys.

For Fans of Request-Based Clubs

sket dance anime

SKET Dance

At Kaimei High School, there is a club dedicated to helping
others. They call themselves the SKET Brigade, dedicates to Support, Kindness,
Encouragement, and Troubleshooting. This club’s cast of quirky members takes
the requests of others and tries to live by SKET, though often being
intentionally hilarious in their efforts.

Both shows, though having different sort of themes, are about the same thing. They are about clubs that help students sort out various problems to make themselves feel good. Despite that, as comedy shows, obviously they both go quite off track as well.

medaka box anime

Medaka Box

As the perfect girl, it is only natural that Medaka Kurokami
would win the election for school president by a landslide. Her first order of
business is to install a “Medaka Box” in which the students could request her
help. Medaka fulfills these requests with top speed, adding a flower to the
student council room with each student helped. However, during her trials, she
discovered a malicious plot on the academy and herself.

Both Medaka Box and Outburst Dreamer Boys are about people whose entire aim is to help other people. Outburst Dreamer Boys actually focuses on the person that is pulled along for the ride, though. Yet, you will find Medaka is a bit chunibyou in her own way as well.

Okami-san and Her Seven Companions

Ookami and her best friend Ringo are part of the Otogi Bank,
a club that assists students with problems in return for assistance later on.
In order to ensure these loans, the Otogi Bank members go all out, but there
members are all females. Knowing some problems require a male touch. Ookami
seeks to recruit Morino Ryoushi, a boy with a fear of being looked at who just
confessed to Ookami.

While Outburst Dreamer Boys is the reverse, Okami is a harem
show where one normie gets pulled into a group of oddballs that help people.
They are both pretty good comedies about people solving problems in sometimes
the most unexpected ways.
