Recommend Me Manga: 15 Horror Manga That Haven’t Been Animated (Yet)

We don’t do manga series in our recommendations here, just anime. However, that doesn’t mean that anime fans don’t want to lie in bed and read a few good chapters quietly before bed. Instead of branching out into manga recommendations, we’re going to give you a few good ones that you can look into. So if you want to read some good horror manga or are just some sort of anime hipster that wants to be all “I read the manga before it was cool and animated,” then check out these horror manga recommendations below.

Dead Tube

Dead Tube is a website, it s videos a flurry of sex and violence. The more disturbing the video and the more views it gets, the better the profit. Tomohiro is a member of his school’s film club. This is a manga of numerous short stories. Every chapter is another chilling tale, many based on popular Japanese urban legends and scary tales.

Bastard

Ruthlessly bullied and meek, Seon Jin has a secret. He is forced to lure pretty women to his home for his father – great business man, upstanding citizen, and also serial killer – to kill. However, one day, his father sets his sights on a classmate that helped him, so begins Jin’s long battle with trying to so save her.

(Technically, it is a Korean Manhwa/webtoon, but still very good if you are not a purist.)

Any and All Junji Ito Manga

Junji Ito is to horror manga as Stephen King is to horror novels, though not quite as prolific. Gyo, Uzumaki, Tomie, and many, many short manga series. Though some of them are more black comedy, all are a must for a horror fan. He doesn’t really do long series, but you can find various collections of his works. In technicality, many of his works have been adapted to anime, even the shorter ones in the Junji Ito Collection, but not all of them. It would be a shame to miss them.

Fort of Apocalypse

After being framed for murder, Yoshiaki Maeda i sentenced to a juvenile detention center where he manages to make friends with much more vicious criminals than himself. Unfortunately, things get so much worse when the zombie apocalypse suddenly storms the world.

Rabbit Doubt is a popular cell phone game. People are grouped together where they must hunt down the wolf hidden among them. Every turn, the wolf will eliminate one player until found or everyone else is dead. Unfortunately for Yuu Aikawa and his friends, he’s playing it for real after being abducted.

Sixth grader Shou is much like any sixth grade boy, wild and unwilling to grow up. however, that all changes when an earthquake seemingly dislodged the campus of his school and transports it into a dangerous wilderness. Now, facing food shortages, threats within and without, and adults not adjusting well, Shou must shoulder a large burden on his small shoulders.

(Many of these are very graphic, but while it has been many years since I read this one, I still remember it as very brutally graphic.)

Today was the day. Shouta Amano was ready to confess to his crush Koharu. Today was also the day he received a strange e-mail that marked him as healthy in the “Friend-Eater Game”. However, when his crush called him to the roof, he finds out she is marked as infected and the cure is his duodenum (part of the stomach). They both pass it off as a stupid prank, right up until his crush dies violently in front of him. From there on his class learns if you want to live, you better be ready to eat your friends.
