‘One Piece’ Creator Plans To Reveal Huge Information On ‘D’ Clan Soon

We were introduced to the D name back when Luffy set out on his journey for the One Piece. But back then, I don’t think anyone really noticed the ‘D’ in his name. Later, the Will of ‘D’ came up a couple of times, and people began to wonder what it really meant.

After the Paramount War, we got a Roger flashback with Whitebeard, and he explained to him what the ‘D’ really meant. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see that part, but it was implied that the ‘D’ people have some kind of history tied down with the One Piece, and the Void Century. The secrets of the D people haven’t been revealed yet, but according to the creator of One Piece, we’re getting closer, and he really wants to draw stuff with Roger, Garp, Dragon and the birth of Monkey D. Luffy.

Oda was recently asked about which characters he would like to go into detail about, if he really had the time. One piece is focused on Luffy, but the universe is really vast, and Oda can’t always cover everything. So, he comes up with cover stories to make up for that. But, if he wanted to, he would’ve focused on the Marines, and of course, Monkey D Dragon, and his cause of Revolution. Here’s what Oda said:

Question: Which characters would you like to go into detail about if you had enough time?

Oda: Well, there is a helpful means named “cover story” in ONE PIECE for that purpose… Anyway, there remain some characters I want to go into detail. It would be interesting if I focus on Marines. I can come up with a magnificent story about Garp. I’d like to draw some relationship and talks between him and Akainu, Aokiji, Smoker, Hina, Coby who joined Marines one after another, Cypher Pol and Roger.

It would also be interesting if I focus on Revolutionary Army, mainly Dragon. Why do they intend to make a revolution? With what belief? How did they meet? The story about Luffy’s birth would be interesting. Many of those stories would be serious.

All of the stories about their lives lead to Luffy!! OK!! I’ll draw Luffy!!

It looks like Oda is planning to reveal the cause of Dragon’s Revolution to us very soon. I think everyone agrees that it will somehow be tied to the Void Century, and connected to the World Government. This is where we’ll get to see Oda giving us something about the ‘D’ people, because Dragon definitely knows something about them, and the history of this world that we don’t. I can’t wait to see Oda draw all this stuff, and I hope it happens during the Reverie Arc. We’ll find out soon, as Whole Cake Island is about to end.
