GATE Anime

TOP 10 Isekai Ecchi Harem Anime You Need To Watch

Isekai anime tend to be both imaginative (especially with their titles) and fun with loads of interesting stories. Isekai characters are transported to other worlds and must find a way to survive while usually completing some kind of mission or quest. The genre’s entire premise allows for action, introspection, personal growth, and spectacular animation. Here are the 10 Best Isekai Anime of All Time!

10. GATE

Alternative Title: Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri

GATE Anime

GATE is distinct in the fact that it is a two-way isekai. When a strange portal opens up in the middle of Tokyo, Earth is invaded by beings from another world. Youji Itami, who is simply trying to get to a doujinshi convention, ends up repelling multiple invaders and saving countless lives. As a result, he is chosen to be among the group of people sent to explore the new realm. Their goal is to broker peace, but if they fail, they could spark the most devastating war either world has ever seen.

It’s definitely one of my favorite isekai anime and I hope it gets a third season. I highly recommend watching it.

9. Log Horizon

Best Isekai Anime of All Time (July 2022)

Log Horizon shows us what happens when thousands of ordinary people become trapped in the fantasy MMORPG Elder Tale. This anime has a large cast of interesting characters who all have different magical abilities.

Rather than focusing on a single character, the anime takes a broader approach, focusing on political conflict and economic systems.

It starts off pretty slow with the usual “no-faults’ main character but as the story progresses and we see Shiroe approach each situation strategically and not just overpower all the enemies.

8. The Rising Of The Shield Hero

Alternative Title: Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari

Rising of the Shield Hero follows Naofumi Iwatani, one of four heroes sent to a new world to save it. Unfortunately, as the Shield Hero, he is constantly discriminated against by those who summoned him. His situation worsens when his only companion, Princess Malty, accuses him of sexual assault.

As a result, he deteriorates into a shell of his former self. He goes from being a kind, trusting person to become cynical and distrustful of everyone. This anime is praised for its character development as well as its intense fight scenes. Despite all odds, Naofumi perseveres in the face of hatred and discrimination to demonstrate what it means to be a true hero.

7. No Game No Life

No Game No Life Anime

For some reason, shows that delve into the psychology of Hikikomori or shut-ins always tend to be fascinating. In the case of No Game No Life, the two main protagonists (siblings but not really siblings) are both Hikikomoris that also happen to be pro gamers. After being challenged to a game of chess by the god Tet and winning they are thrust into a fantasy world of Disboard.

In this new world, no one can hurt each other and all disputes must be settled by playing games. Not only does that make the conflicts more interesting but how the main protagonists interact with this world in itself is very amusing.

6. The Devil Is A Part-Timer!

Alternative Title: Hataraku Maou-sama!

The Devil Is A Part-Timer!

Who knew an anime about the Devil working at a McDonald’s parody would be so entertaining? The Devil Is a Part-Timer! has risen to the top of many isekai anime fans’ favourite lists thanks to a slew of entertaining and engaging characters and it just got a second season after 9 whole years and fans are going crazy over it!

Whether it’s part-time work, household chores, or simply trying to pay the rent on time, The Devil Is A Part-Timer! presents a hilarious view of the most mundane aspects of everyday life, all through the eyes of a hapless demon lord.

5. Overlord

The final hour of the popular virtual reality game Yggdrasil has come. However, Momonga, a powerful wizard and master of the dark guild Ainz Ooal Gown, decides to spend his last few moments in the game as the servers begin to shut down. To his surprise, despite the clock having struck midnight, Momonga is still fully conscious of his character and, moreover, the non-player characters appear to have developed personalities of their own!

With his newfound power and army of loyal followers, he decides to conquer the world. Despite being far more powerful than any other character in the series, Overlord is far from boring. This series is a must-see for any isekai fan, with hilarious character interactions and frequent displays of Ainz’s godlike power.

Overlord just recently started airing its 4th season. So, you might wanna binge the first 3 seasons quickly if you want to catch up.

4. KonoSuba: God’s Blessing On This Wonderful World!

Alternative Title: Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!

Kazuma Satou, a high school student, and recluse finds himself sitting before a beautiful but obnoxious goddess named Aqua after dying a laughable and pathetic death on his way back from buying a game. She gives the NEET two choices: continue on to heaven or reincarnate in every gamer’s fantasy world! Kazuma, who has chosen to start a new life, is quickly tasked with defeating a Demon King who is terrorizing villages. But before he leaves, he can choose one item of any type to help him in his quest, and the future hero chooses Aqua. But Kazuma has made a critical error: Aqua is completely useless!

Even though he has a goddess, a knight, and a magician on his side, things don’t quite go as planned. Megumin, the magician, is obsessed with explosion magic; Darkness, the knight, is a creepy masochist; and Aqua, despite being a goddess, is practically useless. While not as intense as other isekai anime, KonoSuba is unquestionably the most amusing.

3. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

Alternative Title: Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu

Despite being bullied, scorned, and oppressed his entire life, a 34-year-old shut-in mustered the courage to attempt something heroic—only for it to end tragically. In an unexpected turn of events, he awakens in another world as Rudeus Greyrat, resuming his life as a baby born to two loving parents.

As Rudeus’ second chance at life begins, he strives to make the most of his newfound freedom while overcoming his traumatic past. And maybe one day he’ll find the one thing he couldn’t find in his previous life: love.

Mushoku Tensei isn’t exactly the easiest show to recommend to the more casual anime fanbase due to the disturbing nature of some of its adult content, some might even say that it’s traumatizing. But, if you get past that, it is one of the best isekai out there and I would highly recommend watching it. Everything in this anime, from the characters, and art to the plot, is top tier.

2. Re:Zero -Starting Life In Another World-

Alternative Title: Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu

No discussion about isekai anime would be complete without including Re:Zero. The series follows our protagonist Natsuki Subaru, who gets transported to a fantasy world cursed with a terrifying ability, “Return by Death”, this ability resurrects Subaru and reverses time up to a certain moment.

It starts off with a pretty light-hearted atmosphere. I’m gonna be honest here, when I was watching the first episode I thought it was a comedy isekai. But boy was I wrong, it quickly turns dark as Subaru finds himself dying in several brutal ways.

Each resurrection provides him with a new opportunity to protect those close to him. Re: Zero is widely regarded as one of the best isekai series of all time, thanks to its captivating animation by White Fox, powerful storytelling, and a cast of likable characters.

1. That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime

Alternative Title: Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Anime

Satoru Mikami falls victim to a random assailant on the streets and is stabbed. However, to his surprise, he wakes up in another world… as a slime. Following his reincarnation, he comes across the sealed Catastrophe-level monster, the “Storm Dragon” Veldora, who has been imprisoned for the past 300 years. Satoru befriends him, sympathizing with his predicament and promising to help him destroy the seal. In exchange, Veldora bestows him with the name ‘Rimuru Tempest’ in order to grant him divine protection.

Rimuru, now with his newfound abilities, quickly evolves into one of the world’s strongest beings in the world. I’d highly recommend watching this as it’s one of the best anime I have ever watched.
